FAQ
Answers to common questions about Moodi.fm, internet radio streams, favorites, station data, ads and privacy.
Is Moodi.fm free?
Yes. You can listen without an account. Creating an account is optional and mainly helps sync favorites across devices.
The free listening experience does not require a subscription or trial. Some editorial pages may contain consent-controlled display advertising, and live broadcaster streams may contain their own audio advertising. Those are separate layers: Moodi.fm controls page layout, while broadcasters control what plays inside their streams.
Where do the stations come from?
Moodi.fm uses the open-source Radio Browser community database for station information. The actual audio streams remain with the broadcasters.
Radio Browser provides names, stream URLs, countries, tags and technical metadata contributed by the community. Moodi.fm adds a calmer interface, mood paths, favorites and editorial context on top of that data. If a broadcaster changes its stream, the listing may need time to update.
Why does a station sometimes fail?
Stations manage their own servers. A stream can be offline, moved to a new URL, region limited or temporarily full. If that happens, try again later or pick a similar station. The guide How internet radio works explains the technical background.
Will Moodi.fm show ads?
Moodi.fm may use limited display advertising on content-rich pages to keep the service free. Ads are not placed on account, password-reset, error or empty-state screens. Broadcasters may still include their own audio ads in the stream; Moodi.fm does not control those.
Where required, advertising is only enabled after the applicable consent signal. If consent is not available or is declined, Moodi.fm should continue to work as a radio player without showing personalized ad units.
Can I suggest corrections?
Station data comes from the open Radio Browser database. If you run the station, change it via HTTP headers; otherwise submit it to the radio-database project. For anything else, use the contact page.
Does Moodi.fm own the radio programs?
No. Moodi.fm does not own, host, edit or endorse every broadcast. The app helps users discover and play streams that broadcasters make available online. Each broadcaster remains responsible for its own programming, rights, audio ads and availability.
Why are there editorial guides on a radio player?
The guides help listeners make better choices: which stations fit focus, how much data streaming uses, why a stream might fail, how to find calmer radio and how to build a useful favorite list. They are part of the product, not a separate content farm.
